Alexander Wang Sample Sale!

Its here. Alexander Wang is having his second sample sale of the year starting tomorrow! (the July sale was to die). Lucky me, I was able to attend the friends and family event tonight (which means first picks before the public, editors, industry insiders, etc!) courtesy of my lovely friend Lisa who works for AW. The sale consists of his pre-fall and fall 2010 collections, so lots of wool, coats, fuzzy sweaters, blazers, structured pants, and TONS of his T line knits.

Upon entering the lofty space, my gut strategy to "grab-everything-in-sight-just-because-it's-marked 70-80%-off" aka my eyes are bigger than my wallet syndrome - I instead opted for a thought out and if I might say so myself a rewarding purchase. The more does not always equal the merrier. I have been on the hunt for a durable, classic (but structured), and warm winter coat for months now (particularly in camel)....to no avail. Spotted and chaa-ching. The camel nubby wool coat was giving me googly eyes. It's structured, its classic, its camel wool, its durable, its heavy, and its LONG which means that I have found my long lost new best winter friend. Lets just say it was my only birthday present to myself and happily paid the 70% off retail price - so NO I don't feel guilty. However, having a bit of a tough time bidding adieu to many other beautiful things, I called Alexandra from the racks and convinced her that she couldn't live without the black wool nubby & shearling collared pea coat. Two AW coats + 70% off + first dibs = two happy warm girls.
Sorry for the terrible pics.
