Richard Colman

Getting excited to go see Bay Area artist Richard Colman's booth at VOLTA NY next week during the craziness that is The Armory Show . One day, when I buy that industrial farm house I have always wanted, I am gonna have him trick it out... Will keep you posted on any unprobable progress on that one, in the meantime he's got a pretty in depth website and blog to gawk at.

Shoe Du Jour

Rainy Fridays limit cute footwear options. Hunter boots are frolicking everywhere and it makes me slightly nauseous. It's like an army of Hunter's out there that you cant escape. I'm in desperate search of a rain boot that is functional, sensible and frankly is not befooted to every single passerby on the streets. I found these lace up goulashes that also happen to be Hunter's, but get me more excited for rainy days and sloshing around Manhattan grit. Kinda 90's vibe meets ankle worker lace up boot...this is my kinda rain boot style.

The Great Dane Dalmatian

I always wanted a pet Dalmatian named Sparky (dont ask, true fact). Luckily I have outgrown that Disney pre-teenangster fantasy. In fact, the sophisticate in me (ahem...yes I know) has dubbed Dalmatian the new cheetah. Sign me up for some black and white, and tell me when I can purchase those Top Shop Unique booties or find me a Dalmatian coat to mimic my favorite Danes steeze.

Polly Polly Polly Crushing

New album from PJ Harvey Let England Shake. She continues to just rock out and recorded the whole album in a church overlooking the sea in Dorset. Ummm, where is Dorset again?

Never goes out of style

There is nothing sexier and more stylish than a Robert and Paul sandwich. Damnnnnn.
I cant even.

Its a Pants Party

Print matters. I cant wait to have a pants party and dance an ode to MC Hammer in an updated version of the pants that rocked your world in 1990. So hot right now.

Shoe Du Jour

New York reaching a high 61 degrees today means that all humans living in Gotham City are soaking up any bit of warmth to remind them of spring...that translates to exposed toes and ankles. Im not quite ready to take it to the next level, but its casual Friday and all I want is to stick to my creature of comfort habits but spring it up a bit. Madewell has updated their oxfords in light shades and tones that quite simply make it too easy to not ooze a bit of spring joy but dressing sensibility. My BIGGEST pet peeve are exposed toes i.e sandals of any sort in the middle of winter (it doesn't matter if its 80 degrees where you are - unless you live in the tropics - wear those ankle boots or ballet flats with your tan bare legs ladies but please dont point your toes at me in the middle of February!). Ok I digress...put these on my feet with some happy socks and there ya go folks...a happy New Yorker ready to spring forward.

Bauhaus Performance Art

Bauhaus performance art pics. Amaze balls, as my Swedish friend Max says, and if you can imagine that in a Swedish accent, it's really a performance on its own. We have come a long way since these photos, the PERFORMA website has a good temp as to where we are today.

New York Fall 2011 Fashion Week Part Une

Rachel Roy 2011 Fall Presentation

Tibi 2011 Fall Fashion

Yesterday was able to play hooky on work to attend Rachel Roy's Fall 2011 presentation - this was of course work related, and the Fall Tibi show last night. Both designers I dont care too much about, but I wont turn down any opportunity to participate in anything NYFW because the people sightings and street style gawking are more of a heart pumping spectacle that is kinda unreal. I actually LIKED Rachel Roy's fall collection, very bohemian inspired with lots of layers and deep greens, purples, neutrals, patterns, textures...great combination's that I didnt know she could pull off. Plus the models had their hair all heidi'd up with left over ribbon from her looks.

Tibi on the other hand, was an actual runway show that started with some amazing oversized woolly gray and beige coats and layers (so me), and ended with one amazing red romper and a couple dresses I would wear. Nonetheless, spotted some "celebs" I could care less about (Tinsley Mortimer, what's her face from High School Musical Zac Efron chick, and I-dont-know why-everyone-cares-about-her Olivia Palermo). I was more giddy when I spotted the hilarious Man Repeller from my seat taking photo's from her phone + gossiping and then staring at Canned Fashion from across my seat in the cutest red pants and camel coat. I'm officially a blog nerd. Oh, best part of the day yesterday was actually at the Rachel Roy presentation and was -not gonna lie- a semi life changing moment when I literally almost bumped into Andre Leon Talley - duh he's like 8 feet tall, fabulous and was wearing the largest fur. AMAZING. Harper Bazaar's Joanna Hillman is also tall gorgeous and was of course, impeccably dressed in a beige suit and her trademark red lipstick.
Not too shabby.
