Feeling super inspired by my week long sojourn in Baja, Mexico....an evening reading of my mothers Frida Kahlo book sure cracked open the can of re-fried beans filled with musings galore. I am no art'o like Alexandra, but I have a major obsession with certain artists whose personal lives interest me - if not more so- than their actual creations. Frida is one of them (Andy, Pablo, Yves to name a few who I'm utterly intrigued). Right now I'm completely obsessed with Frida's headpieces, jewelry, and colorful "costumes" that she adopted initially to please Rivera but soon realized it enhanced her magnetic beauty. Frida is by far one of the most captivating fashion icons. Ever. p.s. One of my favorite photographs is of smoking Frida against the NYC skyline. Double p.s. more on Mexico later.
