Richard Colman

Getting excited to go see Bay Area artist Richard Colman's booth at VOLTA NY next week during the craziness that is The Armory Show . One day, when I buy that industrial farm house I have always wanted, I am gonna have him trick it out... Will keep you posted on any unprobable progress on that one, in the meantime he's got a pretty in depth website and blog to gawk at.

Bauhaus Performance Art

Bauhaus performance art pics. Amaze balls, as my Swedish friend Max says, and if you can imagine that in a Swedish accent, it's really a performance on its own. We have come a long way since these photos, the PERFORMA website has a good temp as to where we are today.

The Clock, Christian Marclay

The Clock by Christian Marclay at Paula Cooper Gallery is honestly one of the most relevant and beautiful pieces of artwork I have ever encountered. It is a 24 hour long movie, made up of thousands of video clips from all different films past & present all referencing time. A man looking at his watch, a woman telling someone the time on the phone, a train announcing its arrival, etc... The craziest part is that the times being referenced in the movie are the EXACT time it is in the real world as you are watching it so you bring in your personal reference to the present. My dear lord, my head explodes, my artist crush on Marclay begins, and my face smiles in wonderment. Thank you Christian Marclay for this treat, thank you.
