Shoe Du Jour

After going through the majority of last years New York blizzard and COLD winter with nothing but wellies and lots of thick socks (I basically ruined some Frye boots as well)...I decided to stock up early and come prepared. For almost 3 years in a row - I waited too late to get my LL Bean Duck boots (they become back-ordered till Feb/March as soon as December/Jan hits) and so this year I proactively ordered these about a month ago. So, water proof/weather proof and NON slippery snow boots...check! Last but not least, Ive been searching for a good winter moccasin or shearling lined bootie that was appropriate enough to wear in public because stiff weather boots can only carry you so far. I found these 100% shearling lined Minnetonka mocc boots at J.Crew (sale + extra 30% off sale!) last week and Im feeling preeeetty good about this coming winter. Cozy feet starts now.

Today I popped over to the Steven Alan sample sale (last day = extra discounts...I got a great midi long sleeve wool dress!), let the warm weather confuse me, and took a late afternoon schvitz in the East Village and now I feel like a noodle.

Shoe Du Jour

Two words: Furry Chucks. Its like the pet kitty I wish I had running around my apartment, only a bit less high maintenance. Its dark, mildly cold, and officially appropriate to start wearing all things furry and fuzzy. I pretty much live in my chucks on the weekend, and have been contemplating getting an all leather pair to spare the wet and colder days. I came across this picture in blogshere, unbeknownst as to whether these are real or perhaps a good 'ol DIY. Either way, these are the perfect combo of casual/cozy sneakers that seriously accomplish the basic needs of staying warm without publicly sacrificing yourself to the UGG movement (once a upon a time I did wear UGGs in public..I confess).

Midnight Morning

Todays look en route to work. I'm becoming a little bit obsessed with seemingly otherwise clashing colors, aka midnight navy and black. Wearing navy waxed Zara jeans, black H&M angora sweater, old gap shirt, old old old Coach ankle buckle wedges that I just re-discovered from maybe 5 years ago.
