The minute I saw these Zara buckskin wedges, I knew I had make them mine. They immediately reminded me of Philip Lims summer shoe collection that I am obsessed with. Im no shoe snob, so if I find a shoe that I like with a designer throwback and a pricetag of $79....that's what I call a win win shoe situation. These wedges have a simple shape in the most amazing tan color...hard not to pair with everything in my wardrobe at the moment. The best part is the even wedge shape...I dont do high heeled wedges so these 70's esq stompers couldn't be more shoe du jour perfect!
I came across these amazing illustrations by London based artist Zoe Taylor who has done commissioned based drawings for everyone from Prada to AnOther Magazine. I absolutely love love her style, oh the bold but simple shapes and colors!
As the spring weather continues to falter transition from spring to summer here in the Big Apple, my inner boot junkie continues to call my name. So what if my self proclamation can find endless ways deeming ankle boots the official shoe mascot of all seasons - whether appropriate or not - but majorly struggles with the idea of all pretty dainty heeled obstacles? I continue to circle back to a comfort shzone (shoe + zone = bad made up word) that is probably more bland than fashion oriented. But I am a foot pleaser, and comfort always wins first for me...but it sure does help when there is a little heeled edge, a little shoe lace tying required to make any outfit seem comfortably put together with just the right amount of zexxxy ingredients if ya know what I mean?! So, when I got Saks email about 40% off sale, I had to see what boots were in their sale section. Rachel Comey's Miner Lace Up Boots in Bone are sooo good I cant event handle it. Say bonjour to the creme de le creme of ankle boots........je'obsessssssed!
I dunno about you, but I havent seen a peep on Leelee Sobieski since Never Been Kissed or something teenangster/highschool'ish...but shes looking CHIC! Simple is, simple does always win....especially in all shades of black.
I hate to admit it, but for the first time everrrr, I have to agree w/ Rumi on something: These Balenciaga boots just might be the boots of a century. Holy mackerel of boot heaven. I die.
My new friend Yali from Cuba! She has a clothing line called Normal is Good that "develops the concept of multipurpose" and "aims to create multiple options in a single garment". The first day I met her she told me that she doesn't like the idea of a hand bag. I soooo agree.
I got Fashion Buzzed last night en route to after work drinks in Bryant Park by a nice young lady who was wandering nearby with her camera...unbeknownst to me until she approached with her card for her blog....Apparently my Cambridge Satchel is the new chick magnet!
Is it suit season yet?!! I'm in the market for suits in interesting cuts, textures, patterns. 1) Carly Simon killing it. 2) New suits at Creatures of Comfort
